Well, yes, from a Lacanian viewpoint, definitely. But the real in this
sense is also a construct, mediation - it's also symbolic. It's a closed
circuit.

Instead I'd argue about the in-itself - that in vr as in real life, there
are always imagined viewpoints which are unrealized, interiorities which
are never given as surface (since then they lose their status), etc.

I also tend to follow a scientific epistmology - virtual particles, for
example, are as real as 'real' particles. There's a lot of this in
particle theory -
